Marguerite Dettori Plankinton Obituary
Marguerite Dettori Plankinton, age 91, of West Chester, formerly of Kennett Square, PA, died peacefully Monday July 22, 2013 at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester, PA. She was the wife of the late Harry J. Plankinton who died in 1994 and with whom she shared 55 years of marriage.
Born in West Chester, PA, she was a daughter of the late John and the late Genevieve Valerio Dettori.

She devoted her life to others. Tireless in community service, her activities included Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, swim team, and football teams. In her retirement, she worked for Phillips Mushroom Museum and at her daughter's law practice. She also enjoyed arranging flowers for weddings and parties, gardening, knitting, and countless other activities. She was a passionate card player, winning many Pinochle tournaments well into her 80's.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ann Plankinton Peach and her husband Gordon "Terry" of Chadds Ford; one son, Robert Gregg Plankinton and his wife Christine of Landenberg; two grandchildren, Olivia and Sophia and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Pocopson Home for providing such a wonderful caring place for Marguerite to live and to the Chester County Hospice Center for her end of life care.
